Our Experience With Ubigi

Now, let’s take a look at our experience with Ubigi eSIM. To give you an idea, I’ve tried Ubigi in March 2023 during my travels in Thailand.

Purchase

Buying an eSIM on Ubigi is easy. Once you have the application, you can pick your destination and preferred plan. The process is straightforward and takes a few minutes.

You can add a coupon code once you select a plan.

One thing I like about Ubigi is that you can choose a recurring plan or an annual plan.

Regarding payment methods, you can only pay by credit card or via Paypal.

When installing the app, you’ll need to create your eSIM profile. You’ll need to scan the QR code. As a result, your eSIM will be installed and ready to be used once you purchase your plan. Now, it gets even better – you can purchase a plan without data or WiFi. This can be handy abroad.

Usability

Ubigi is easy to use, but some features could be improved. For example, if you’re going to one country, you can easily choose your destination in the dropdown menu. However, if you want to compare plans for Asia, you’ll need to select all destinations and scroll through all the plans and destinations to compare your options.

Mobile Data

After installing the Ubigi eSIM on my phone, I needed to enable roaming. It worked within a couple of minutes.

However, their website and application could be improved for a better user experience.

I love that they offer the option to purchase a plan from anywhere even if you don’t have access to data or WiFi. This can be handy if you need access to the Internet urgently.

What To Do If Ubigi Isn’t Working?

If you’re having issues with Ubigi and can’t access the Internet, you can always contact the support to find a solution. The support is quick, so you should have a solution fast.

Here are some recommended steps:

1. In your device settings, your eSIM is active under Mobile Networks
2. Verify that mobile data is turned on for this eSIM
3. Verify that data Roaming is On
4. Add a new APN if needed
5. The newly created and saved APN is selected
6. You are manually connected to the supported network provider in your carrier settings
