How To Verify If My Phone Supports eSIM

Want to verify if your device supports eSIM? Follow the steps below. Note that we will only explain the steps for the most popular types of phones.

There are two main things to check:

  1. Verify that your phone is carrier unlocked.
  2. Verify that your phone supports eSIM.

If you have an Apple device, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings > General >About
  2. Go to the “Carrier Lock” section. If it says “No SIM restrictions”, your phone is unlocked.
  3. Go to Settings > Mobile Data
  4. When you see the list of active SIM cards, click on “Add mobile data plan”.
  5. If there’s an option to scan a QR code, this means your phone supports eSIM.

If you have a Google Pixel device, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings > Networks and Internet
  2. Next to the SIMs section, click on the +
  3. Click on “Download a SIM instead” and scan the QR code. If this option works for you, this means your phone supports eSIM.

If you have a Samsung device, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Card Manager > Add Mobile Plan
  2. If you have the option to scan a QR code there, it means your device supports eSIM.
