Our Experience With aloSIM

Now, let’s take a look at our experience with aloSIM eSIM. To give you an idea, I tried aloSIM in February 2023 during my travels in Europe.

Purchase

Buying an eSIM on aloSIM is easy. Once on the website, you can pick your destination and preferred plan. You’ll see a list of the plans available, and you’ll need to click on a plan to get more information.

On the next screen, you’ll find more details like the network, speed, plan type, etc.

Once you’re happy with the chosen plan, click the Buy button. If you have an account, you’ll need to log in. Alternatively, you’ll have the option to create an account.

Regarding payment methods, you can pay by credit card or with credit/vouchers.

After purchasing a new eSIM, you can install the eSIM right away. You’ll need to click on your eSIM card and find the button to install your eSIM.

Then, you’ll be able to scan the QR code. Note that you’ll need to enable roaming to access the Internet, and you’ll need to set up an APN.

One thing I love about aloSIM is that when you type a country, you’ll see the local plans but also the regional plans available for this country too.

You can also see which networks are supported by clicking on each plan.

However, there’s one thing that could improve in the future. There are a lot of clicks needed to buy an eSIM (choose a plan, click on a plan, click on buy, click to create an account, etc). I hope to see a faster way to buy an eSIM on aloSIM in the future.

Mobile Data

After installing the aloSIM eSIM on my phone, I needed to enable roaming, and I had to set up an APN. It worked instantly. If you don’t know what an APN is, look at their installation guidelines to learn more. It’s pretty easy to set up.

The Internet speed was great and worked fine. I connected to an LTE network right away.

Support

I contacted aloSIM via their live chat. Their reply was extremely fast. It took them 30 seconds to get back to me, which is remarkable! I didn’t even have the time to close the chat feature.

They also have a detailed FAQ section if you have any questions.

Now, as the chat feature starts with a bot, you may type something like “not helpful” to talk with a real person. That said, I was amazed at how fast it was because usually, it takes me a long time before I can reach an option to talk to a real person.

Our Opinion About aloSIM

aloSIM is a reliable eSIM provider that covers many destinations. Their support team is fantastic and fast.

Their website is easy to use, but we hope to see some improvements in the future so that we can reduce the amount of clicks needed to make a purchase, or install the eSIM.

I love that they offer a wide range of eSIM plans in multiple countries and regions.

That said, for specific regions, I’d love to see improvements like:

• The Asia plan only works in 5 countries, which is not a lot compared to other providers.

If you’re having issues with aloSIM and can’t access the Internet, you can always contact the support team to find a solution. The support is extremely fast, so you should have a solution soon.

Usually, the issue is that you are connected to the wrong mobile network or forgot to set up the APN.

Here are some recommended steps:

1. In your device settings, your eSIM is active under Mobile Networks
2. Verify that mobile data is turned on for this eSIM
3. Verify that data Roaming is On
4. Add a new APN if needed (alosim)
5. The newly created and saved APN is selected
6. You are manually connected to the supported network provider in your carrier settings
