How Does SimCorner Work?

Follow the steps below to purchase a plan on SimCorner:

1. Go to SimCorner.
2. Type your destination in the search bar.
3. Decide if you prefer an eSIM or a SIM card for your destination.
4. Compare your options and click on the product that suits your needs.

6. Pick your travel date. When I bought mine, the closest date available was two days later.

14. SimCorner will send you your eSIM within 24-48 hours. I had to wait 5 hours and 38 minutes to receive my eSIM.
15. Scan your QR code to install the eSIM on your device.
16. Turn on your eSIM to activate it.
17. Enable roaming.
18. Enjoy the Internet.

Usually, eSIM providers can send eSIMs immediately, so if you’re already abroad, it’s great! However, I had to wait 5 hours and 38 minutes to receive my eSIM by email.

If you haven’t left home yet, this may not be a problem, but if you’re already abroad and need mobile data fast, it’s not ideal. So, I’m hoping SimCorner will improve its eSIM process in the future to provide a better experience.

That said, as soon as I got my eSIM, I could activate it and connect to the Internet quickly. SimCorner also provided a complete guide to installing the eSIM, which can be very handy if it’s your first time buying an eSIM.

Our Experience With SimCorner

Now, let’s take a look at our experience with SimCorner eSIM. To give you an idea, I tried SimCorner in April 2023 during my travels in Thailand.

Purchase

Buying an eSIM on SimCorner is easy. Once on the website, you can pick your destination and preferred plan. The process is straightforward and takes a few minutes.

One thing I like about SimCorner is that you can choose between an eSIM and a prepaid SIM card. All the plans offer lots of mobile data, which is great!

Regarding payment methods, you can pay by credit card, Paypal, or Gpay.

After purchasing a new eSIM, you’ll need to wait until you receive your eSIM via email to install it. I had to wait 5 hours and 38 minutes to get mine. To install it, you’ll need to scan the QR code. Note that you’ll need to enable roaming to access the Internet.

Now, compared to other eSIM providers, I was a bit surprised because usually, I always got my eSIM right away. It was the first time I needed to wait to get it. I’d recommend you purchase an eSIM before your trip to make sure you get it on time.

You can wait until your departure to activate it.

Usability

Mobile Data

After installing the SimCorner eSIM on my phone, I needed to enable roaming. It worked within a couple of minutes.

The Internet speed was fast and worked fine.

Our Opinion About SimCorner

SimCorner offers both SIM cards and eSIMs. They offer big mobile data plans, which can be great for long-term travelers, expats, and digital nomads.

Their website is easy to use, but we think they should improve the speed of delivery for the eSIM plans. All the other providers give you access to your eSIM right away, so I’d expect them to do the same without having to wait.

What To Do If SimCorner Isn’t Working?

If you’re having issues with SimCorner and can’t access the Internet, you can always contact the support to find a solution. The support is quick, so you should have a solution fast.

Usually, the issue is that you are connected to the wrong mobile network or that you forgot to set up the APN.

Here are some recommended steps:

1. In your device settings, your eSIM is active under Mobile Networks
2. Verify that mobile data is turned on for this eSIM
3. Verify that data Roaming is On
4. Add a new APN if needed
5. The newly created and saved APN is selected
6. You are manually connected to the supported network provider in your carrier settings
