Our Experience With GigSky

Now, let’s take a look at our experience with GigSky eSIM. To give you an idea, I tried GigSky in December 2023 during my travels in Thailand.

Purchase

Buying an eSIM on GigSky is easy. Simply download the app to pick your destination and preferred plan.

Once you’re happy with the chosen plan, complete the purchase.

The app will help you install the eSIM. However, you may need to enable roaming and select the correct network to access the Internet.

The GigSky eSIM worked right away.

Usability

GigSky is easy to use. Enter your destination to find all the plans available. You can swipe to see the regional and global plans available in your chosen destination.

One thing I love about GigSky is that you don’t even need to scan a QR code to install the eSIM. The app does it for you, which means it’s great if you aren’t familiar with eSIM technology.

However, you don’t get any details on the supported networks, so you may need to try them one by one to find one that works for your destination.

Mobile Data

After installing the GigSky eSIM on my phone, I needed to enable roaming and select a network.

For the time being, there’s no way to see which networks is supported. We hope to be able to see them in the future as it can be useful in some destinations.

Here are some recommended steps:

3. Verify that data Roaming is On
4. Select a different network if the one automatically set doesn’t work
