Our Experience With Airalo

Now, let’s take a look at our experience with Airalo eSIM. To give you an idea, I’ve been using Airalo since 2021. While I’ve been trying other eSIM in the past year so that I can review them, I use Airalo as my primary source of eSIMs.

Purchase

Buying an eSIM on Airalo is pretty easy. Once you’re on the website, you simply need to choose your destination and preferred plan. The process is pretty straightforward and takes a few minutes.

One thing I like about Airalo is that they offer short-term and long-term plans. You can always top it up if you need.

When it comes to payment methods, you’ll have a few options:

• UnionPay
• Paypal
• Alipay
• Airmoney (their own referral money)

After purchasing a new eSIM, you can install and activate it right away via the app/website.

You’ll also get an email confirmation including steps if it’s your first time using an eSIM.

Usability

Airalo is very easy to use. You can use the search bar to find the country you’re visiting or click on the different types of plans (local, regional and global).

In my opinion, Airalo offers the most straightforward website. It’s easy to navigate and find the eSIM you need.

Mobile Data

In the past, I had issues with Airalo twice. The issue was that my mobile phone was automatically connecting to the wrong network instead of the supported network.

Both times, I contacted Airalo support, and they sent me steps to fix the issue.

Apart from this, the Internet speed is usually fast and works fine.

As I just mentioned, I contacted Airalo support twice in the past. Their reply was very fast. It took them 7 minutes to get back to me.

What To Do If Airalo Isn’t Working?

If you’re having issues with Airalo and can’t access the Internet, you can always contact the support to find a solution. The support is usually very fast, so you should have a solution fast.

Usually, the issue is that you are connected to the wrong mobile network.

Here are the steps they recommend:

1. In your device settings, your eSIM is active under Mobile Networks
2. Verify that mobile data is turned on for this eSIM
3. Verify that data Roaming is On
4. Add a new APN if needed and save as: globaldata (you can leave the other fields blank)
5. The newly created and saved APN is selected
6. You are manually connected to the supported network provider in your carrier settings

To verify what network provider is supported by your eSIM, follow the steps below:

1. Go to My eSIMs
2. Click on Details on the chosen eSIM
3. Click on the button Show More
4. Click on the Network tab
5. If you have a regional or a global plan, type the country to see which network is supported.
6. Go back to your settings, and select the correct network provider.
